Review: Foundation: A Golden Beach Novella

Foundation: A Golden Beach Novella Foundation: A Golden Beach Novella by Kim Loraine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a novella that should be read after reading book 1. It can also be read after book 2 as it touches on both characters so you will the other side of the story. This is a continuation of the story of Grace and Drew and what transpires in their relationship after marriage and what happens with Drew after learning of the truth about his adoption and the secrets that still haunt him from his adopted brother he never met, John and Grace's former fiancé.

We get to see Sarah again in here as well and if you thought she was evil in book 1 think again. OMG I can't believe what she did. Gasp!! She deserves to rot in hell. We learn the details of the Valerie and Mick scandal and that she wasn't the only victim.

You feel like you travel with them to Virginia and London. Love this series!

Review: Renovation

Renovation Renovation by Kim Loraine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Valerie is the assistant to Grace and they are on a project together in London. She had a bad relationship in London and when she returned home to Virginia she had a hard time dating again. She is swearing off bad boys, you say. Well she holds true to this until one night back home changes this course.

Donovan is a one night stand guy and a fire fighter who has a demon that haunts him and affects his life. He has an encounter with Valerie and doesn't want a one night stand when it comes to her. He wants a go at a relationship with Valerie. Her past is preventing her from this and a former ex (or should I say a couple ex's) are going to try anything they can to stop her and Donovan from having a go at being in a relationship.

We see glimpses of Grace and Drew in this book; however, you do not need to read book 1 to enjoy this story. Renovation is not only about Valerie being an assistant to a Restoration company, but renovating a relationship into something worth fighting for while helping each other rid the past of the bad.

Valeria and Donovan are made for each other and once they work out the stopping points they get their HEA.

Review: Restoration

Restoration Restoration by Kim Loraine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Grace suffered a tragic loss of her fiancé, John about a year ago and she was hired for an international job in London to do a restoration on a building not long thereafter. What better way to try to start over in a new country and without having to see the past in her little town right? Wrong, she thinks she is hallucinating when she gets to London and thinks she is seeing John from the moment she lands. She runs into this person again in a store down the street from her house as well. Is she going crazy and letting the past overtake her?

Drew is a hard worker who put aside his career for his family and town about 5 years ago. He has a crazy ex-wife who you will meet and will want to strangle while reading this story. He has a run in with Grace. Does he think she is crazy or he will let her craziness slide and pursue a relationship with her?

Can Grace put aside the similarities of both John and Drew and truly be with Drew for Drew and not a resemblance of John? Will secrets that she is keeping from Drew and she finds out in her research harm their relationship?

Restoration is not only about a town restoring their buildings, this is a book about restoring your self worth and pursuing a relationship with some challenges after you overcome the blocks in the way. Grace and Drew are soul mates that may have meet in a not so simple way, but in the end they belong together and it truly shows that their past relationships were to just pass through life until they met. Secrets and all.

Review: Chase Me

Chase Me Chase Me by Elizabeth York
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kate finds out her biological dad, Henry (who is rich and has a almost teenager/adult finance) owns the shop she works at is closing up the shop even though they can afford it and he wants Kate to transfer to one of his other buildings doing what a lady should be doing. I love how she tells her co-worker how her mom conceived her by"spitting in a cup and out she grew"-great analogy to tell kids on where they came from. haha

I would have had the same response as Kate did-good for her even if it was her sperm donor. I can't believe he even spoke to her like that and after not knowing her for 30 years and taking away her dreams (shatter is the better description). He's lucky Brooklyn stopped her or he would have had no man parts left to make any more sperm babies with a teenager out for his money. She had a normal life, she wanted until she met the sperm donor. She had her mom, Mike (co-worker and a guy she looked up to like a dad) and Brooklyn who was like a sister to her (as well as her BFF). Brooklyn and Kate are hilarious! Their 40 year old pact and Kate's bean comment OMG dying over here.

Edward is her undoing. Can she allow him to be what they both need to be for each other? They have a lot in common and the in the end the Chase is worth it. In this book, you will laugh, cry, cringe at the emotional moments and be glad that you journeyed on the Chase with Kate, Edward and the secondary characters. I loved that while we didn't have to read her other series, we still got to see Brooklyn. Loved seeing old characters from prior books make an appearance in the new books.

Dark Edges by Kane Caldwell

Title: Dark Edges
Series: The Edges Series
Author: Kane Caldwell
Genre: Contemporary/Erotic Romance
Release Date: May 27, 2016
I’m not your good ole boy or boy-next-door type of guy. If that’s what you’re looking for, I suggest you move on. I curse a lot, work too fucking much, and keep to myself. My edges are hard, rough, and even dark at times. I never thought I would wind up in the business I’m in. I may not always play by the rules, but I go where the money is, keep my nose clean, and my affairs organized. Who knew one fucking e-mail would change everything in my controlled life. I swore I’d never touch a case like hers again, but there was something intriguing behind every word I read. She had my attention, she would have my services, but I never thought she’d steal my heart. My name is Chase Black, owner of Dark Edges PI. I’m your good girl and I once had everything. A big beautiful house with a view of gorgeous mountains, an expensive car, stress-free job, a wardrobe any woman would die for, but one thing was missing… the ever-absent husband. I never expected to be in the position I’m in, but I needed answers. I sent one e-mail thinking I would figure it all out. It wasn’t the route I intended to take. The life I’d been living was a lie and he gave me the answers I needed. What happened next I wasn’t prepared for. He had my information, he took the case, but I never thought he’d capture my heart. My name is Naomi McAllister, owner of a broken heart. This is our story…

I’m Kane Caldwell, an aspiring contemporary erotica Author. Writing had started years ago as a hobby but quickly turned into a passion. I am the epitome of a country boy with my jeans, t-shirt, hat, scruffy face, and work boots on, driving my truck. I’m in my mid-forties, but my mind tells me different. I live in the south where the weather is warm but most times sweltering hot. I have two teenage boys that I’m very proud to call my sons. I may be a simple guy but I do have a few jagged edges. When I have down time, I love to be surrounded by family, friends, great food or engrossed in a good book. Like I said…simple guy with simple pleasures.

BLOGS REVIEW

First off let me start out by saying this new male author has rocked this book off the charts. He hooks you from the very first page and leaves you wanting more at the end.
Chase is not your boy next door, he is our bad boy with a bad mouth and a dark side to him that we want more of now. He is a PI and tells himself that he is not going to take this type of case again, but there is a pull there.
Naomi, is a women that we can all relate to. She is married to an ever absent husband and hires Chase's PI firm, Dark Edges to handle this case of getting answers she needs to know if her suspicions are correct and if she should go with her gut and file for divorce.
Fate intertwines Naomi and Chase and some things are just inevitable. I think that even if she wouldn't have reached out to the PI firm that fate would have brought them together in the bar one way or the other.
They both fought their feelings that were so strong even though they never fully met per say. I'll leave it at that. When they do met get your fan ready cause this alpha man and beautiful women sparks are flying. Those sex scenes oh my, panty melting moments let me tell you.
No spoilers from me so this is all I can really say other than you MUST read this book by this aspiring male author cause he is going places and I cannot wait to read the next book with that ending. This book deserves more than 5 stars.
