Title: How to Catch a Star
Author: M. Piper
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Design: Inked Imprints
Release Date: March 12, 2021

BLURB

I had learned a lot in my life. Being a foster kid and jumping from household to household, I knew more about surviving than any other human my age. I could disassemble and reassemble a motorcycle in a matter of a couple of weeks. I had experience in carpentry, cooking, cleaning, and any other odd job one could do while growing up. I thought I knew it all and had done it all. Meeting Brooklyn, however, taught me the one thing I never truly had.
Love.
She brought feelings into my life that I couldn't explain if I tried the rest of my life. The word love never meant much to me, but with her, it felt natural. Real.
I didn't know love, and I wasn't prepared for what it brought along with it.
Love brought jealousy.
Love brought worry.
Love brought a side of me I wasn’t prepared for.
Brooklyn brought a lot of unexpected changes into my life.
Love. Loss. Heartbreak.
She was my star, but even the brightest of stars eventually burn out.

No commitment.

That was my deal with Tyler from the start, at least until his tour was over and we could be together. But thirty days filming a reality show here, two years overseas with his band there...

Is it really any wonder why I didn’t tell him about the baby?

He comes looking for me once he’s back in the country, but he runs into the man I married instead. Eventually I agree to meet him so I can put the past truly behind me. When I see him, though, every feeling I held inside comes rushing back.

My husband and I vowed to raise this baby together. But as I find myself drifting away from the husband who stole my job and gravitating toward the rock star who stole my heart, I realize he deserves the truth.

I just have no idea how this rock star who doesn’t make commitments is going to react to the fact that he’s a father.

BLOGS Review

No Commitment will hook you from the beginning till the end. We see the before of how the relationship of Dani and Tyler began and what drove them to be distanced for a few years. Then we see the now and our hearts hurt over and over. Dani had a major decision to make, was it right or wrong? That is going to be the hardest to decide. I still cannot say as I can see both sides of this.
Dani and Tyler agreed to no commitment, but things took a turn and changed its course. Tyler left for commitments to his band, Capital Kingsmen and his feelings for Dani never changed, you can say they intensified over the years. Dani made the decision she thought best for her unborn child. She knew Tyler would need to be told when the time is right, but is it ever a right time. Ford made a decision many men would not do and your heart also hurts for him. I do love what Tyler did though it just showed that all of them acted as grown ups. This is all I will say to avoid a spoiler.
Tyler went from no commitment to being very committed in showing that he was all in. The bond shared between both Tyler and Ford is heart melting when it comes to child bonding. You will see some rock stars are true rock stars and others are big softies when out of the public eye. If you enjoy rock stars, unplanned pregnancy and combustible chemistry this story is for you. Once again Lisa shows that no matter the storyline she will continue to give us all emotions and leave our hearts full in the end. I highly recommend this book or any book by her really. Love them all!

Breakthrough is book one in the Nashville notes series and a great kickoff to a new series. It will hook you from the beginning with a heartbreaking twist that is very real to many in real life than leads us to much suspense and how this will play out. The unthinkable will occur in Mandy's and Parker's life. This story will break your heart, then Breakthrough your mind on who and what is revealed to you. This is action packed and not just from a hockey game action packed, it is full of heartache, love, loss and what to expect when you least expect it. Parker has done a full 360 and you will love it! Mandy is strong and what every woman who is put into this predicament should be. This is a highly recommended story if you love sports, suspense and a HEA. I am hoping that we get a CAM story next with a certain someone. Love seeing alpha men fall when they least expect it and to see how soft they are.

Playing for Keeps is book three in the UofJ series and cannot be read as a standalone. This is the final book and the cliffhanger picks up from Game Changer. We will finally get to see how the playbook for Kayla and Mason will be played. Decisions will need to be made, but with the help of the team, squad and her family/friends we will hope that Kayla will make the right decision. If not the Skittles may stop being a rainbow. HaHa.

You will see how far both Mason (Casanova) and Kayla (Skittles) have come. The love and support of the crew help, but they are hilarious at times and love how they know what's best for them. For being a playboy, Mason sure knows how to win a girls heart (love it!) Inquiring minds wants to know how this crazy close knit crew will fall and meet their one down the road. JT is one I'd like to see make the team score. The author puts reality to the story and we can see just how damaging social media can really be to someone. I highly recommend this series and author to others.

EXCERPT

No way.
No fudging way.
He was here. Right over there and inside the shop.
“Denise, I’ll be out back if you need me,” I whispered with a panicked edge to my tone before I bolted through the swinging doors behind me. Leaning over, I rested my hands on my thighs and took gulps of air.
“Channa, are you all right?” Stanley asked. He dropped the bowl on the workbench and started for me. I quickly straightened and waved him off.
“I’m fine…. I… think I swallowed a fly.” And a lie. I hated lying, but I couldn’t exactly tell Stanley, who was my cake-icing machine and sixty years old, that I ran like a wuss when I saw him. It would just be confusing, and then I would have to delve into my past, into a moment of time I wanted to forget.
Stanley screwed up his nose. “Blasted warm days stink arse. It’s hotter than hell in here. My balls are sweating so bad and my icing doesn’t want to work.”
I moved over to the bench and pressed my hands onto the cool stainless steel. “Come on, Stanley, I know you can work your magic. I might have turned off the ovens a little late this morning, but the air con is on and it’ll start freezing this place over soon.”
I could have done without hearing about his balls, but I’d put up with it because Stanley was a master at making and applying icing to all my baked goods. He was a god, and I wouldn’t know what to do without him, because I had skills to bake, which I loved doing, but the delicate decorating just wasn’t for me. I messed them up each time I tried. It was how I’d known I would have to hire someone and was lucky Stanley had approached me about the work when I’d advertised.
He huffed and said, “I’m going into the coolroom.” He picked up his bowl and walked to the floor-to-ceiling coolroom at the back of the work area. He opened the door, stepped in, and I caught his shoulders sag in relief before he shut the door behind himself.
Turning back towards the front of the shop, I tippy-toed back towards the doors, thankful Stanley wasn’t there to see my childish actions, and pushed them apart enough to peek out.
A squeak slipped through my lips, and I let the doors fall closed quickly. Taking a step back, I rested my hand over my swift-beating heart.
He was right there.
At the counter.
He was smiling at something Denise was saying. That smile could steal someone’s breath. It had stolen mine every single time back in high school. Only I hadn’t seen it since then, for eight long years, and the power of having it directed my way had grown. His light eyes could trap another’s gaze. His dark hair looked like it needed someone to run their fingers through it. His body…. All right, I had to stop there. Yes, he was handsome, but right then I didn’t need my hormones seeking out someone for a roll between the sheets. Especially not him.
I only hoped he would take whatever he was ordering and go. There wasn’t anything in the world that would have me out there in the bakery when Cody Marcus was inside.
I jolted when Denise popped her head through the doors. “Need help, please.”
Son of a bitch.
Okay, there was nothing except that.

Blogs Review

Coyote is book one in the Next Generation Hawks MC series. One thing is it is hard to believe that these kids are all grown up, but it is also nice to get to see the old crew and how they are still a band of crazy families, but wouldn't have it any other way. Coyote (Cody) has his life, MC but he yearns for what his parents have in a relationship but hides it pretty well. Channa is strong, brave and not only a business owner, but loves those puppies. One night changes their course and while one of them doesn't realize they know each other from the past, the future will keep them together as he now needs to protect Channa since she has no fear obviously. Know it's vague, but that is to avoid spoilers. I will say this was a great way to kick off a new series. I cannot wait to read about the siblings.
