It was a chance meeting in paradise that caused them to cross paths. Destiny brought them together.

These two alpha males met with the force of a head-on collision. Sirens went off and lit up their hearts faster than a flashfire. But now that they’re living in the real world, everything isn’t as easy as anticipated. Other than their strong-willed and dominant personalities, they couldn’t be more opposite.

As the front man for a world-famous heavy metal band, Brandon Bullet lives in the spotlight. He thrives on the attention of his fans and wild parties that all rock stars are accustomed to.

The free-spirited attitude and uninhibited lifestyle that is so natural to Brandon totally contradicts with Cameron Douglas’ anal-retentive, structured mindset. Spurred on by a thirst for adventure, Cameron’s ready to leave behind his sedate, low-key life, but he’s unprepared for the rock star’s world of free sex, drugs, and non-stop parties.

Concessions aren’t always easy when thrust into a new relationship, especially with two head-strong men who constantly challenge one another. Add time apart from Bulletproof’s promotional tour, and it’s another layer of adjustment to contend with that just may push this new relationship too far.

Cam gave the dog one last pat on the back, then turned his gaze on Brandon. He walked through the long entry hall with a swagger, which is why Brandon remained a good 10 feet away. He pretended it was because he didn’t want to get knocked over by a rambunctious 90-pound Lab, but he really wanted to see Cam’s long legs stride down the hall in that fucking hot as hell business suit. Tonight’s ensemble was navy blue with a lavender tie, which Cam had already loosened, and the top button of his shirt was open. As Cam sauntered closer, Brandon’s eyes kept falling to that sweet spot at the center of Cam’s throat that was peeking out of his shirt collar.

Cam gave Brandon the standard greeting – a rough set of hands holding Brandon’s face still while a thick, hungry tongue told him how much he was missed all day, but Brandon’s thoughts were on Cam’s neck. He grabbed hold of Cam’s wrists and pulled them lower. Cam thought it meant Brandon wanted to be groped, but he just wanted to suck the soft flesh of Cam’s throat.

The moan that echoed in the hallway was a mixture of both Brandon and Cam’s voices, which spun together like a harmonized melody.
“Was this my surprise?” Cam asked in wispy voice. “Because I’m not surprised at all that you have this effect on me.”

BLOGS REVIEW

In Branded, we get a more in depth story of Cam and Brandon from the novella that we read about them meeting in Rio. They had one weekend and chemistry that was never felt before in prior relationships, but reality gave them only that one weekend. Cam was a businessman and Brandon was a huge musician who was constantly on tour, with Bulletproof. They each went their separate ways, but still mourned the loss of what could have been between them.
Cam you alpha business man could not be more different from Brandon with his tattoos, long hair and loud music, but what you did to show Brandon you missed him and could step away from being the dominant one so many times in this book just showed how true your feeling were for him. Brandon was no different though, they were night and day to the angel and the devil, but they each worked the opposites of them to make their relationship work. It was funny how they both did the same thing and never realized how much they really were alike until pointed out to them.
You see how they were once stuck in a pattern and once that shell was broken they opened up so much possibilities for each other and the band. The key to being branded with your soul mate is to find a complete opposite cause those opposites attract and complete each other.
Lets just say if you thought the sex was HAWT in the novella, think again cause it was HAWT HAWT HAWT in this book. OH my, I may have wanted to jump in the pool like Brandy and the band a few times. haha. If Bulletproof was a real band, I would totally see them and this isn't my type of music per say. I can only handle so much. Inquiring minds do want to know who this band would portray though. Can't wait to read more on Bulletproof!!!

After I grabbed a bottle of water, I made my way across the living room to the couch. I hadn’t had a chance to catch the scores from the football game tonight. Just before I got to the couch, I kicked the edge of the coffee table.

“Son of bitch,” I cussed, hopping on one foot. Why the hell is this table so far out? Damn the motion sensors. Jane must have turned them off again. I grabbed around on the table and found the remote. Falling backward on to the sofa, I landed on something.

"Ahhhhhh,” a woman shrieked as she scrambled backward pulling the blanket up around her chest as the television lit the room.

Emmery.

“Holy fuck,” I yelled, jumping up. She scared me as much as I apparently scared her. “What are you doing?”

“Uh, what the hell does it look like I’m doing? Yoga? I was sleepin’ you ass. What the hell are you doing? Why’d you sit on me?” She released her grasp on the chenille blanket, revealing a tiny beater that showed half her stomach. She rubbed her hands over her face and repositioned herself on the sofa.

“I didn’t see you, I swear. Someone turned off the motion sensors.” Slowly it dawned. “And I’m guessing that was you,” I muttered as I moved down toward the opposite arm and sat. Still way drunk, I couldn’t face the stairs although my bed beckoned. Pressing the remote, I surfed until SportsCenter appeared on the screen.

“What are you doin’?” she slurred, trying to lie back down. Apparently, Emmery was pretty tanked herself.

“I’m watchin’ TV, what does it look like? Yoda? I mean yoga.” Fuck, I was too drunk to even make sense as I tried to be a smartass like her. Glancing from the television to Emmery, I saw that she’d already passed back out.

Drunk off my ass, I still couldn’t help but admire how truly sexy she looked with no makeup, hair a mess, tiny beater, boxer shorts scrunched up and passed out on my couch. I savored this moment - she was quiet. And, it gave me the opportunity to memorize the full lips and high cheekbones set under olive, flawless skin. God, she was gorgeous. And half naked. Shaking my head, I tried to clear the wicked scenarios that had taken root and began to play out in my brain.

BLOGS REVIEW

I will start off by saying that you don't have to read the prior books of the TORN series (Pushed, Pulled or Torn) to understand this book. How is that possible you say if it is about the one man not chosen by Leila? Easy you obviously know who she doesn't pick, by this synopsis and that is ok as you don't need the background to read about Brody and how he redeemed himself after the turn of events he faced. I was a little leery on reading this book as I only read Pushed and Pulled and didn't know who she chose since I didn't read Torn and I was able to understand Brody a little more.
I got to see a side of him we did not see in the other books. I definitely want to read about Leila and Jaxson and how Brody and them managed to work out their differences with the baby and the security firm. To say that was a shocker in this book was an understatement. From the way they the boys acted, I would have never thought it was possible for them to run a business together.
While Jaxson was always my favorite, I can definitely say that Brody redeemed himself from his past and current situations in this book. Emmery oh Emmery how you managed to tie Brody up after all he's been though is beyond me, but it worked. Oh my, I will say that there are quite a few shockers in this book that we do not expect and made this story have that suspense side to it. I am happy that Brody, Leila, Jaxson and the crew are like one big family. It was nice to see the secondary characters as well in this book. Really Andrea that epilogue went from a happy moment to a gasping moment! WTH, now I am going to be torn with this new development cause I was sad about the situation, but was ok with what or who was affected. So wish I could say more, but that would give away a spoiler and lips are sealed. So I will say get to writing AF please.

A Problematic Love Synopsis

Eight years after her fiancé was murdered, attorney Megan Kole has fully reconciled two areas of her life: her intelligent son, who never knew his father, and the thriving law practice that is her late father’s legacy. The remainder of Megan’s world stalled in a paralyzing grief that she effectively compartmentalized until a transfer to Seattle brings a handsome, mysterious billionaire into her life.

Daemon Ros has been an outcast since the day he was born. His parents’ lavish but emotionally-vacant lifestyle prompted him to assert his financial independence at a young age. His ailing brother is the only connection he allows to penetrate the vault he has built around his heart, until a devoted mom and her precocious son introduce him to the true meaning of family bonds.

But a chance legal encounter where Megan acts as mediator in a Ros family business dispute leads to far more than either expected. When a shocking truth leads to a love affair between Megan and Daemon that is forbidden in every conceivable way, the barely-restrained chemistry that scorches between them threatens an injunction on everything and everyone they hold dear. As pasts cross, memories threaten, and lies surface in a trial far more deadly than anything inside a courtroom, an arbitration of the heart could prove the only way for them both to make it out alive.

Excerpt - Their Very First Meeting

I knock on the Presidential suite door at the Four Seasons and wait. My palms are drenched, and I can’t seem to stay still. The door opens.

“You must be Ms. Kole, we’ve been expecting you. Please come in.”

The man is probably my age—early to mid-thirties, Asian, and his hair is in a neat ponytail.

He smiles politely. “I’m Min-jae Kang. Please have a seat. Mr. Ros is on a call. He’ll see you shortly.”

“Thank you. It’s a pleasure,” I respond. I’m too nervous to sit. Everything around me is still so foreign. I stop for a moment to take in the breathtaking water views. Mega cargo ships sail by. To the right, an island looms in the background.

In the distance, I hear indistinct talking. After my phone conversation with Daemon, I’m not sure what to expect. I have no clue how this man is going to behave, especially now that his father decided I should mediate on my own. I hate being so unprepared for this meeting. I am completely out of my comfort zone. Right now, I don’t even know what the man looks like.

Min-jae returns. “Ms. Kole, please follow me. Mr. Ros is ready to see you.”

As we approach the room, Mr. Ros’s voice becomes clearer. “They’re fucking incompetent. Tell the legal department I want the whole management team fired immediately, and tell Schwartz he needs to get on a plane and head over there tonight to begin putting things in place. I’ll call you later. I have a meeting.”

The man whom I could only assume is Daemon Ros stands looking out to the view, his back is to me as he ends the call. Chills run through my body.

“Ms. Kole,” he turns to face me.

Blood. Air. Water. All that keeps me alive spirals into a vicious vortex and leaves my body.

Oh my God… it’s Zach!

My Review

I am not really sure how to express how much I loved this new book A Problematic Love. I hope you all give this book a chance and show the author much love as her way with words moved me.
This is the first book I've read by Rebecca and it certainly won't be the last book. While it appears to be apart of a series, they are a standalone and can be read out of order, as I did. I will certainly be going back and reading about the secondary characters to get this full story on them.
Megan is an attorney who suffered losing her fiance and surviving after this while raising a little boy that Zach never got to meet. Daemon meets Megan in an unconventional way and embarrassing to say the least, their paths will continue to cross as she is the mediator on this legal battle Daemon is involved in with his father. They develop feelings for each other and this forbidden relationship and chemistry is off the charts. The lies, deceit, love and problems they face and hurdle have you cheering them on one moment, tearing up the next, and wanting to scream at them to do the right thing.
The title does justice for them as it seemed like just as things were looking positive for them a memory or lie would be thrown at them and they would have to fight that much harder to be with one another. This book is highly recommended and I especially loved that it involved a single parent as I think this story made it so much better showing what it takes to involve children and that a man will love that child like his own if he is the right man for you. Kudos to you for writing characters with children and not them ending up being pregnant after they get together. Love the epilogue!
