What to expect: Insta-attraction, opposites attract, he falls first, emotional wounds, long distance

BLURB:

Stone is Harlow’s opposite and the retired hockey player with whom she ends up sharing a bed with…

Showing up to a small town for an author retreat began with a bad arrival at the inn. Stone Madden, the cocky retired hockey star with a tight jawline, and my opposite? He’s actually the man behind a writer I assumed was a recluse. And he’s ready to make my day miserable due to our apparent lack of enthusiasm for one another. But it doesn't take long to discover we click with an inflammable instant attraction. The fire I thought I’d lost inside of me begins to return.

Because of him.

Together, we unlock the unexpected, a strong bond we don’t want to break. There may be distance on a map between us, but our emails and visits bring us even closer. Stone entered my life as the key to healing my emotional wounds and giving me my own love story. But eventually, something has to give, and I’m not sure my heart can handle the risk, even if he won't give up. In retrospect, the moment our eyes first connected, I should have known…

Stone and Harlow bring the feels and steam in this he-falls-first and instalove romance. It is the first standalone book in the Lake Spark Inn series, which is part of the Lake Spark world where small-town romance has a hint of hockey.

Authors note: Like all of my books, Should Have Known is a heartwarming, feel-good romance full of banter and steam. However, it does reference assault from the past (off-page).

I can’t remember a time when I haven’t loved my childhood best friend, Amelia.

Her big brown eyes and beautiful smile have had a hold on me since we were teenagers.

Hell, I even love her kids as if they were my own.

Now, she’s divorced, and after twenty years, it’s time to make my move.

The tension between us finally erupts and I kiss her.

Imagine my surprise when she doesn’t push me away but says she wants to give us a try.

Except she has one condition: We keep it a secret.

I’ll do anything for her, even this.

But I can’t help but want to shout to the world that the woman of my dreams is finally mine.

I inadvertently do it when her ex-husband rolls back into town.

A man I’ve hated since high school.

He riles me up and I blurt out Amelia and I are engaged.

We’re not.

BLOGS REVIEW

The One I love is book three in the Rolling Hills series and each can be read as a standalone, if you wish as I just picked this book up mid-series and fell in love with it and all characters. Shane and Amelia have been friends since birth and are BF plus a few other men thrown into the mix. They have a strong friendship and balance each other out. I enjoyed that while we saw the secondary characters, we still had a lot of suspense with them and have added the prior books to my growing TBR list. Shane, not sure how you held strong all these years, but bravo to you. Amelia you deserve a hug in so many ways and in the end she landed where she was supposed to be. The only thing that bugged me in this book was how abruptly it ended, would have loved to see an Epilogue on them (yes, I know they will make an appearance in Simon's book) cause I felt they deserved a summed up chapter on where they were with everything. Simon not sure how you are going to handle the bug?! (hehe).

We always tend to see a connection as we read, thus our love of reading, but this one truly hit home as I myself have recently gone through a split and am truly a single parent like she was. Putting that brave face on is exhausting, but worth it and in the end still gives me hope that when the time is right I find a Shane (haha). Love the bond that Shane shares with the kids before and now. The One I Love is recommended if you enjoy a single parent, friend to lovers, he falls first and a small town read.

Loving Romeo by Laura Pavlov is now live!

From USA Today and Amazon Bestselling Author Laura Pavlov, comes a new Small Town, Enemies to Lovers, Standalone Sports Romance in the brand new Magnolia Falls Series.

Demi Crawford was Magnolia Falls royalty.

I was the boxer from the wrong side of the tracks.

She was the epitome of everything good, while I was broody and rebellious.

We couldn’t be more different.

Her family was enemy number one which made her guilty by association.

I despised her before I even knew her.

It was easier that way.

But now she’d moved in next door to me, and she was everywhere I turned.

I couldn’t avoid her no matter how hard I tried.

She was beautiful and honest and sweet.

Everything I knew I shouldn’t want.

Shouldn’t need.

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate—and I don’t know when I crossed over.

I was so wrapped up in this girl I couldn’t see straight.

She was the right hook I never saw coming.

Hating her was supposed to be my end game.

Loving her… well, that was just the beginning.

But the secrets that lived between us threatened to tear us apart.

Lucky for her—I was a born fighter.

And she was definitely worth the fight.

BLOGS REVIEW

Loving Romeo is book one in the Magnolia Falls series and a great way to kick off this series. Romeo and Demi not only are complete opposites, he stereotypes her just cause of her family, he's a fighter, she's strong, nothing like her family and as rude as he was at times to her she gave it right to him and still held strong from a degree side (will leave it at that). He may have been on the wrong side of the tracks as a child; however, he and his band of brothers are truly that. They have a close bond and balance each other out. Demi tries to hate him just as he does, but there's always a thin line between love and hate. This was a great start to a new small town series and I look forward to reading about the alpha men cause they all have their own suspense and loving pieces so it would be great to see them Fall, while still seeing the other secondary characters. Laura does not disappoint (did we expect anything different?) and love her small town reads.

The final betrayal was enough to break us.

When I learn of the secrets he’s been keeping for two decades from a source other than him, I’m devastated. I don’t know how I’ll ever trust him again.

But I’m keeping a secret of my own. One he deserves to know.

I thought the final score ended in a tie where we both lost, but maybe there’s hope to put a little more time on the clock.

FINAL SCORE is the final book in the VEGAS ACES: THE COACH series. This series must be read in order.

BLOGS REVIEW

Final Score is the fifth and final book in the Vegas: The Coach series and each book must be read in order as they each pickup where the other left off. Lincoln and Jolene titles truly held up to their story, we had Rivalry between the families, Play Call in not only their careers but navigating and resurrection of what could be, Game Play is it a Game worth Playing or should it end before it goes anywhere else, Overtime by this point every issue ran into OT and the Final Score of making a TD. It wasn't easy to overcome the many obstacles they have faced, but in the end the way we hoped it turned out, did. Some items felt rushed or answered, but not answered, but overall you will love the series and the characters. Having Dalton in the story plus Ellie always helps (haha).

BLOGS REVIEW

MIne to Keep is book eight in the Southern Wedding series and each book can be read as a standalone if you choose to. I have read some and not all of the series and can follow along well without feeling like I am missing something. Grace and Caine are complete opposites, yet they fit together. He was a jerk from the moment they met and she never backed down ever. Score one for the kids juice box and cookies cause everyone else loved them (haha). She may be out of her comfort zone in a big city, but she never lets that get to her. Her family is still hilarious and it is funny how closely they would have ended up meeting if she didn't work for him (party mishap). One heartwarming moment is with Grace and Caine's daughter while he was in a meeting cause she misses that with her mom (that is one woman I would like to smack). Mine to Keep is truly a keeper in my book.
