Love Block is book one in the duet Love Lock and for those of you who don’t enjoy duets due to the cliffhanger, this is one that you should be ok with. It leaves you happy, but patiently anticipating the other story of what is yet to come. This story is about a forbidden romance between siblings BF’s. It was told from a dual POV, so we get to see the emotions of how both Drew and Pippa are handling this new territory as I will call it.  You will love these characters, well okay may not Finn (Pippa’s brother and Drew’s BF) at the moment. I am hoping that will change in the upcoming book though. So, for those of you who enjoy these types of stories get lost in the renovation and these characters. It is an easy read for those night you just need to step away from reality.

Excerpt

“My grandfather asked me to talk to you,” Nate admitted, looking out the delivery van window to take in the changes around Last Stand in the year since he’d driven through the small downtown. There were some new businesses, but the vats from Outlaw Tequila were still there. The park was still trimmed and pruned, empty now but ready for use when the weather cooled.
“How is Everett?” she asked, glancing his way as she stopped at a crosswalk. They waited for a mother pushing a stroller with one hand and holding a preschooler’s hand with the other. “Everyone was worried about him after the accident this spring.”
The collision had devastated the town, killing the youngest Delaney, Rose, and her boyfriend. Rose had been just nineteen years old. When he’d heard the news, he’d tried calling his own youngest sister, Lara, who’d left home at around the same age and hadn’t looked back. The number he had for her didn’t work anymore, reminding him how thoroughly she’d cut ties with the family. He shook off those memories and focused on Keely.
“Thank you. He’s doing better,” Nate assured her, appreciating her concern. “Feisty as ever, so I’m sure that’s a good sign.”
“He’s the one who sent you to talk to me?” Her voice sounded genuinely curious.
“He says you’re growing wildflowers on Ramsey land,” he told her bluntly.
Straightening her shoulders, she reared back in surprise. “Excuse me?”
“He claims he wanted to prep the ground in the east field to start his fall tomato crop, but that the plot is being used for sunflowers—and not by him.” Nate had stopped by the farm stand this morning, hoping the field manager would tell him something different—that Everett was confused, or there’d been a misunderstanding. But Grant Wilkins had told him the same thing.
“What east field?” Keely shrugged her shoulders. “We both know Harper lands border the Ramsey property. Does he think I’m farming too far on his side? Because I have a survey map of our lands and I double-check it before I work any new grounds for Windy Meadows.”
“I’m sure you do—”
“And I’m very respectful of all the borders,” she insisted, clearly offended. Or irritated. “I think highly of your grandfather, Nate, but he couldn’t be more wrong about this.”
“Should we drive out there?” He hated to inconvenience her, but his grandfather was up in arms about the land poaching. “Maybe if we look at the map together, we can take some photos and get it all sorted.”
“I don’t need to drive out there.” She shook her head, ponytail swinging as she huffed out a frustrated sigh. “I’ve got a hundred and one things to do today, and none of them involve spending time with you to appease your grandfather.”
“Okay then.” He turned his attention to the road ahead and ground his teeth, seeing he had wasted his time. “I’ll drive out there myself and see if I can figure it out.”
She said nothing, but she drummed her short nails on the steering wheel as if there were thoughts brewing.
“What?” he asked, wishing she’d just spit it out.
She drummed for another moment as they turned at the faded old sign for Harper Ranch, a relic from four decades past.
“How will you know what fields are freshly planted, let alone which are tomatoes and which are bluebonnets?” she shot back, her words barbed with the other things she didn’t say.
Like how much she resented him being here.
Or how much she resented him, period.
“I’m sure I’ll think of something,” he told her mildly, unwilling to engage.
He’d ticked her off, but he’d be damned if he’d let her get under his skin. He needed to focus on recovering as fast as humanly possible if he wanted any hope of salvaging his career. That meant he couldn’t get tangled up in a drama with Keely, even though she still enticed him like no woman before or since.
Some relationships weren’t meant to be.
“Is that so?” She tipped her head to one side, as if she needed to see him from another angle.
As if she didn’t believe him.
“Yes. You told me you don’t want to help me sort through it, so I’ll manage on my own.” He was grateful when the old barn came into view, his truck parked between it and the ramshackle farmhouse where she’d grown up.
“Right. But if I recall correctly, that just means you’ll say whatever you think someone wants to hear while going ahead with what you had planned in the first place.” She braked to a fast halt and jammed the van into park before sending him a withering look. “At least these days, I know what to expect from you.”
Levering the driver’s side door open, she hopped down to the dusty gravel and walked away as fast as her boots would take her. Had he thought she was non-confrontational? Damn.
Time had changed her, apparently.
Nate watched her go a moment too long for him to convince himself that it didn’t matter, his surgical scar throbbing in painful time to the beat of her retreating footsteps.
He’d known that his grandfather was sending him on a fool’s errand, so it hardly came as a shock that Keely hadn’t given him a warm welcome. But since he wasn’t about to let his grandfather set the lawyers on a woman who once meant everything to Nate, he would find a way to smooth things over between them.
Exiting the delivery van, Nate headed toward his truck, reminding himself that no hitter worth his salt let himself get down about the first strike.
He was prepared to go deep in the count. He just needed to dig in.

I'm a feisty redheaded Canadian/American who fell in love with romance novels when my friend Phil bought me a Kindle that hasn't left my side since.

My favorite books to read are anything taboo and super sick and twisted. I'm not sure I will ever write anything dark, but I would love to give it a shot one day.

I live in South Florida with my high school sweetheart and three kids.

I grew up in Burlington, ON, Canada but made the move to South Florida in 2013 and definitely don't miss the snow.

I'm not sure where this writing journey will take me but either way, I know it will be a fun new adventure, and I'm super excited about it.

Saved by him is book two in a duet from Like a Hurricane. This story picks up right where book one left off and it is the chance for Jules to redeem herself to not only Hunter, but to us. Running is what Jules does best, but there may just be a little wrench in that plan to run. Have tissues on hand as you will be bleary eyed reaching this story!
Jules knows that she did wrong the first time around and now she needs Hunter more than ever. Does Hunter save her and show her she can be whole again or does he left her be after something is said and done? I’ll leave it at that as to not spoil anything. For being a debut duet from this author you would never know. It holds your interest and heart from beginning to end in both books. I look forward to more books from this author. Speaking of this…Em..Does this mean Taylor, her BF will be getting a book?

Excerpt

“In my mind, you were always Lucas' little sister. I never had that eye opening she-turned-into-a-woman moment, until you put that seed in my brain. It was like a curtain was lifted and the opacity was gone. In an instant, you turned into this voluptuous, gorgeous woman that I couldn’t resist. That I wanted. That stirred things inside of me that weren’t there before. I see it all clearly now. Me and you. A drummer and a bassist. We come from the same background. We have the same goals. Our sights are set on the same things. What two people share a better connection than us? You were meant to be in my life." He paused and his expression deflated a little. "My life could have been very different. I could have never known my father. Never known you. Or Lucas. Or any of the Immortal Angel family. I believe I was brought here for a reason. Fate. Fate brought me to you. I love you Tessa Blade Garcia."
She'd waited a lifetime to hear those three little words. They were overwhelming. She had always envisioned her reaction to be one of over-the-top elation. Jump-up-and-down hysteria. But Mason's heartfelt revelation left her exhausted with relief. "Kiss me," she breathed.
His eyes dropped to her lips, and he pulled her closer. His mouth met hers with so much heat she thought she would combust. His mouth was warm and fiery. His lips were fleshy and soft. Gentle. His hands pressed against her back and held her to him, possessively. It was as if every pore in her body woke from a drunken slumber. As if they were waiting, dormant, for Mason to touch her. In a very real sense, they were. Her nerve endings were pulsing. Her heart was thundering. Nothing had prepared her for this moment. A million fantasies couldn't conjure up the rampage of feelings spiraling inside of her. This was really happening. She was kissing the man of her dreams. Right now. It wasn't a fantasy or her imagination, Mason loved her. He finally realized they were supposed to be together.
When their lips slowly parted, she said the words she'd practiced in her head for so long. Only this time she knew they would be returned. "I love you, Mason."
"I love you, Tessa."
The words finally registered, and tears sprung to her eyes while a quivering smile spread across her face. "You love me?"
"I had an epiphany. Everything cleared. Like I had my head in the sand and someone yanked it out and I could see the light of day for the first time. I always said I wasn't interested in settling down or having a steady girlfriend because I was too involved with my music. People thought I was a player. You saw all the headlines, but you knew they weren't true. Anyone who knew me knew I wasn’t like that. Now I realize that I never wanted anyone because it was you. I always said it was the music, but it was you. All along it was you. It was always you.”

Mason Wilder is book two in the duet, Radical Rock Stars Next Generation. It may have taken a long path to get to where they are, but it is now time for Mason and Tessa to get their path at more happiness. You will feel the emotions of both characters while they work through moving from friends/band mate to something more and a shock we did not expect. Device hold may be needed.
I love seeing where these children have gone in adult life and love seeing the parents and band family from Immortal Angel. This is one close family (yes family) and now if we could only eat some of that delicious food and listen to this music that would be the icing on the cake. I hope that we see more of the Radical Rock Stars done the road.

Relief floods my clenched muscles once we reach the landing. Only a few more feet, and she’ll be inside her apartment. Safe from danger. Safe from me. She pauses at the door and looks up. Hope bubbling in her expression where there shouldn’t be any. I shouldn’t have created any.
“Wait just a second. I’ll be right back.”
This isn’t good. I should tell her good night and lock the door behind her. Walk away literally and figuratively. Instead, I stand here waiting once again. Not impatient or irritated. Because I know she’s coming back, and she’s always well worth the wait.
Of course she’s fucking gorgeous when she does. A sparkling smile, glowing with joy and mischief, grows with each step closer.
“What are you up to trouble?”
She holds up the heavy pink blanket draped over her slender arm. “Want to be naughty with me?”
Impossible to resist with her eyebrow twerking up in challenge, I nod automatically. Without thought or reason for what’s right or logical or decent. My turn to be curious as to what she’s implying. She points to the silver metal ladder attached to the wall at the end of the corridor.
“Let’s go up on the roof and look at the stars again.”
Beyond wrong, but I can’t seem to tell her no with the excitement brewing in her expression as she flexes on her feet. Eager to climb up. Keen to learn more. “All right. For a little bit.”
I’d kill a man for keeping me from enjoying the ecstasy radiating in her from my agreement. As usual, she practically runs to the narrow access and I definitely have to run to catch up. I allow her to ascend the first three rungs before I scramble behind her. Sheathing her small body to mine to keep her from falling if she loses her grip. Our ascension is quick which is a blessing since I can’t think straight with her captured between my arms. Fighting against the overwhelming need to touch her more.
Adorable when she turns around after stepping onto the concrete and offers me her hand. Unwilling to offend her by declining her unnecessary assistance, I accept and squeeze her fingers in appreciation. But let go as soon as I’m up. Much to her dismay if the faltering grin is any indication.
Picking a spot in the middle, she billows the bedspread across the surprisingly dry and clean surface and kneels down to smooth the wrinkles. I sit beside her. Spreading my legs in front of me and crossing my feet at the ankles. Attempting to keep a virtual barrier between us as she crawls closer to me once she finishes her efforts.
She lays back on the cover. Silky hair splayed around her. Longer than when she first arrived since she hasn’t found a salon yet that she likes. Fucking crazy that I know this kind of personal girly stuff, but since she tells me everything, I know everything.
Except what she’s thinking right now. As she looks at me, rather than the dark expanse above us. Her soft gaze studies me, contemplative and inquisitive.
“Will you show me some more constellations?”
I have no choice. I have to lie down with her because how in the hell can I deny her request. As soon as my back hits the fabric, she scooches closer and curls onto her side. Friendly and innocent resting her head on my shoulder. Until she tucks her face into my neck.
Inhales my scent with a deep breath.
Fists my shirt with her small fingers.
Whispers my name with a needy murmur.
Hardens my cock with no effort at all.
Fuck.
“What are you doing?”
Barely able to get the words out, my voice rasps with the same desire that she conveys with her actions.
“I don’t know.”
Then we shouldn’t be doing this. Not if she’s as terrified as I am that we’ve gone too far. We can’t go back. We can’t undo what we’ve done.
Obvious she doesn’t agree. Not with her delicate hand cupping my face. I shouldn’t do it but I can’t resist and look down at her. So fucking perfect staring back up with a longing that mimics my own. Jesus.
I’m so fucking weak. I push it. Push her to see if she really wants this. Wants me. I roll over, pinning her underneath me. Raising up on my forearms to keep from crushing her. “You really are trouble.”
That accusation makes her grin. And caress her fingers over my short hair. And rise up to kiss me. Gentle and tentative and soft. Everything I’m not. But somehow I restrain myself and let her lead with tender brushes of her lips. “I know.”
She pulls back, smiling up at me. My cheeks fill her dainty palms from me smiling back down at her. Behaving like the gentleman she deserves and expects and knows. Tamping down the beast roaring inside me from the proximity of my hungry dick nestled between her legs. From the heat engulfing me with her trapped beneath me with no escape. From every inch of her body molding to mine without hesitation or fear.
“You are too.”
That I am. And, it’s unfair to her. I remain motionless. My question answered that she’s not ready. She can’t handle me or what I want to do with her.
