Title: Hail Mary
Series: Hail Raisers #6
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romance Suspense
Release Date: February 9, 2018
Mary Persephone Hail Mary—well-wished-for child. Persephone—destruction. Hail—well that speaks for itself. Her name is painful to think about. Mary, his newfound daughter, isn’t a wished-for child. Persephone, though? Yeah, destruction is a fitting description. And Hail? Yeah, that’s just the final f-you. The moment that her mother drops her off on his doorstep, Dante’s hell becomes complete. Or so he thinks. What can make life worse after losing one’s wife and kids, you ask? Here’s what: being given a baby that depends on him for her survival. Finding out that the baby’s mother is dying of brain cancer, and has a husband that he never knew about. A husband that Dante knows in the marrow of his bones is trying to kill her just as surely as the cancer eating her brain. Dante’s a bad person. He’s done some not so nice things, and now he’s being punished for his misdeeds. Karma is finally catching up to him. This child that he’s been stuck with is of his flesh and bone. This child is his salvation. This child is the final nail in the coffin of his wife and daughters’ too short lives. He doesn’t want this child. But this child will save him whether he wants her to or not. With the help of a friend—yes, a woman friend—Dante finds his way back to life. But what he finds when he gets back isn’t the same life that he left behind. Turns out, he has to start living a new one. One where he's suddenly having feelings for a friend that helped him get through some tough times, and loving a daughter that won’t let him quit.
“How do I articulate how amazing this story is?” - Cali Gals “Thanks Lani for a couple so beautifully broken that it makes me want to wrapped them up and never let go.” - One Last Page Book Blog “Another amazing read from Lani Lynn Vale. Again.” - Books After Fifty…
I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 8, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
HOSTED BY:

We’ve always got that one book in the series, by LLV that we always know has the most mystery and cannot wait till it becomes revealed and that story is told. OK, let me restate this, we always cannot wait for each new book from her; however, there is always one character that stands out from the rest that we need to solve. There that’s better! Haha. For those of us, who read more than this story, for me it was like the long-awaited Ghost story in DW and now it was Dante’s in the Hail Raisers. All the Hails speak for themselves; however, as I said in the prior book reviews on this series that when it came to this book, we would be saying, The Hail Mary and boy was I spot on with that one. Step aside that this was Dante’s daughters name, Mary, and then Hail being the last name, but the story alone that is revealed has you saying the prayer again separate from her name.
Dante has had devastation after devastation and it’s like how much more Hail can one person take? Well Hail is not done throwing destruction at your doorstep. In case you are wondering, I am not referring to Hail as his last name as I referring to H e double hockey sticks. He’s barely surviving after the loss of his wife and kids and he’s pretty much only makes appearances in his family when he is needed then steps away again. Well he’s being punished again with a night that he tried to forget his pain by being brought a baby in a manger. He doesn’t want this or to be reminded of what he lost; however, Karma has a way of bringing him some towaways. This child is special in more ways than one and he does what he does best and protects her. A friend he meets, Cobie helps him along the way.
Speaking of Cobie, if you thought your heart broke for Dante, your heart will definitely be breaking for Cobie as well. Both stories are sad, but just as Karma intervened so does fate. You shall see why and you will see how their connection crosses over. Kinda almost wanted to drop the device once the weave is spun with the nemesis. Holy Hail, I did not see that one coming. Through the tough times though he realizes that Mary saves him and her meaning of her name becomes well spoken for them. Your heart melts when all those bad MC men we love take turns with Mary moments is how I will best describe this to avoid any spoilers. I love how LLV continues to weave characters from the other books she writes cause it will either have you wanting to grab that series or reread the books. Sometimes you forget a character then you read and you see the light bulb go off and its like hey, that was from this book. Love seeing these characters resurface and love trying to figure out who is next in the line to get a story. I absolutely cannot wait for more of LLV books in any of her series. Lastly, that cover of the muse for Dante is HOT as HAIL!
