Title: Home Run King
Author: Stella
Genre: RomCom Standalone
Release Date: February 23, 2018
My life was what country songs are made of: my Granny died, my girlfriend broke up with me, I knocked up her cousin, and I was inducted into the Major League Hall of Fame. Yup…just like every country song I’ve ever heard.
But let me start over…
My name is Gage Nix. That’s all you need to know.
Actually, there’s a lot more to Gage than meets the eye. My name’s Katie Crisp, and I had a front row seat and the inside scoop.
In a moment of grief and desperation, I allowed the Home Run King to…well, hit a home run on my diamond. He not only knocked it out of the park, but he also knocked me up.
Raising two babies—the one I was carrying, and Gage—wasn’t what I signed up for. But he gave me no choice. I only wish I hadn’t waited until the end of the season to see that he was my MVP.
Oh, and the only hall of fame he’s ever been inducted into is his own.
Best Selling Authors Leddy Harper and Stephie Walls met on a street corner in Savannah, Georgia in 2015, where they quickly formed a bond over book boyfriends and cheap wine.
After discovering the two best friends shared a brain, their alter ego, Stella was born. After all, when you put two romance authors together…you’re gonna get something Stella!
HOSTED BY:
Score another Home Run for this dynamic duo! Gage is the man on the field and off the field, well let’s say maybe he’s been hit by too many balls with the way he thinks and some of his actions. OH my, I’m not sure if you want to smuggle him or hug him at times with his way of thinking. You will laugh and then you will be like, “what did you just say?”. He’s hilarious really though, he is and when you get the see the side that others don’t see he truly is a good guy. Can I just say that I love his BF in so many ways! Hilarious and then some. I love that bondage these two have and I love even more that the love/hate relationship with Ellie is still going strong. Those two are what the box of Cracker Jacks at games are made for. Haha.
Katie you are a Saint and then some when it comes to Gage. Really though you are beautiful and the way your story develops and is told is heartbreaking and heartwarming as we learn your backside. Those nicknames though, funny, but not at times, but that is what makes us love Gage all that more. There are some serious topics brought out in this story and it brings it to our attention and awareness to make it feel that more real with what real life people deal with.
You get it all tears of laughter and sadness, inspiration at times and you see that through all the bad comes the good and maybe fate has a funny way of appearing when you least expect it to. We even get to see Coby can actually make it past Third Base after all with how far he’s come with Ellie. Haha I’ll leave it as vague as possible as to not contain any spoilers, but for those of us who had read his story at the end of this book you will see the light bulb for this comment. This book is a standalone and the other book on Coby does not need to be read, but if you want to see more Gage and to learn about Coby and Ellie then grab up Third Base cause these books are hilarious and have you wanting to play ball and score some runs. I hope to see more from this duo who’s writing together is definitely a Home Run and let’s not forget their awesome stories when they write alone as well. All books I have read so far are worth the read and you will not be disappointed.
