DANCER (The Good Guys #2)DANCER by Jamie Schlosser
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well dance me stupid, I didn’t expect this story based upon what we learned of Colton when we met him in Trucker (the first book in the series). Colton was in a relationship with a girl named Tara and when you read the little teaser on him at the end of Trucker I was a little worried there cause I hated her for him. Happy dance over here when we learn they are no longer together! We see a side of Colton that is not fairly shared for the younger men and bravo for the author for bringing up this topic. While it may affect men, the “performance anxiety” was the choice of the women cause his heart knew what it truly wanted it just had to wait until fate decided to interplay for him to see the bulb works. Haha sorry I had too!
Colton goes to this bar to relieve some stress is how I will best state this, but a little cage dancer catches his eye. He thinks she looks familiar, but cannot be sure. They share a dance, when she’s done working and while this is completely outside of her normal self, she feels he is safe and not harmful. Well just like the bridges fall down, Colton is going to be upside down when things fall into place and he realizes that Brielle (Bri or Ellie as he called her) isn’t who she is said to be and you start to think maybe that one night was best left unsaid. Who am I kidding? With that chemistry and knowing the bulb works you better find out all you can to see if this can go anywhere.
Ellie as he calls her knows from the instant she looks into his eyes dancing who he is. Oh my, I don’t know what I would have done. She’s brave to step out of the box though and take a leap of faith. She’s had her heartbroken as a child when Colton had to leave the first time so could she handle this again once he knows who she is and why she cannot stick around at night when she is done working.
If you didn’t love Colton before, you will love him once you see the interactions that come with Ellie’s story and life. For those of us who loved him from the beginning, you want to squeeze him for him and his heart of gold. The bonding alone is heartwarming. Your heartbreaks quite a few times reading this story, but this is becoming heartwarming as it unfolds. Ellie and Colton share a situation that is very realistic and many may have experienced so it touches home to many. We get to see our Trucker, Travis and Angel a little too so that’s a plus for us who have read book one. Haven’t read book one, have no fear each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but when you get to see the characters that are in the background it makes it even funnier when you see things and you start laughing right along with them. At no time do you feel left out, you feel like family even if extended. You can certainly read these out of order! These stories are told in dual POV and it’s kinda hard to choose who is better Travis or Colton cause I love them both. Can’t wait to see who is next in the series cause we are outta men here! In the meantime, grab a jigsaw puzzle until we know who is the next Good Guy.
