Review: Sunset Flare

Sunset Flare Sunset Flare by Shannyn Leah
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Miss Izzy’s book is finally here in the Caliendo Resort and Sibling clan (book 4). Izzy is always full of spitfire, is the princess and is easily misunderstood. We got to see a side of her from the other books, but once we see the inside scoop to Izzy we see that she truly does have a heart and yes, she may be a spoiled princess who doesn’t work fully, but she is very giving. Her actions show how she has grown and how some changes will be made for the better.
The lies, deceit and secrecy continue to come out when it comes to the family files. These files as we know it will either continue to destroy people or do the opposite and bring closure. Holy bomb flare, totally did not see this twist coming. The tunnel of lies will either weave freedom or not. Gunner has met his match with Izzy. Those Caliendo women know how to push your buttons. He may be able to decode files, but his actions he does to Izzy has you laughing. He’s a man of steel and doesn’t move so its quite comical. Izzy not attending the family meetings make sense after placing our hearts on the line with that Antic (not quite the word, but close enough).
Gunner and Izzy have a connection and he takes the time to know her, the real her. He gives some good insight on her file and things that make you say ah, yes it does make sense on why the parents kept the secrets they did over the years. The time was not right for the revelations.
Speaking of revelations, Melissa I knew something was questionable when it came to you. Interesting how this case will play out. As you read the story you know you are coming to a closure in the series since the siblings all have a book already and the coding of the files are coming to a close, but Corbin decided to come out to play before the Sunsets in the cabin. Score, we get to see how all this plays into how horrible Robert (the father) was and why the hiding had to occur.
You really don’t want this series to ever end. I love that you don’t have to read them in order if you choose not to. You still see the characters and the story continues on how evil the dad was, but you are never confused or feel you are missing a piece of the story. Each book covers this story to the point where you feel like you are in the family and can feel the pain and feel free once the mystery is revealed in each book.
Inquiring minds want to know more about Abby, Izzy’s friend. She is one of the McAdams siblings. I’ve read one of their stories and it’s just as good as this series. There’s something about Willow Valley that makes you want to be a tourist and see the good clan and the Bad boys of WV.
