This book has been one that many of us have been waiting for
if you read all of the MSTF (Moonshine Task Force) series in order. This is Ace’s
story (AKA Anthony Bailey). While each story including this one can be read as
a standalone, this story picks up where a scene ended; however, have no fear
cause it is explained in full detail in this book, but for those of you who do
not like to read ahead this story is not only about a couple it continues the
story of the MSTF and the aftermath of moonshine in the high school, we get to see
a wedding, a baby and Caleb. If you are OK reading after the couples are
together you will fall in love with this story just like we did. All characters
including the secondary become like you’re their friends so if this is your
first book in this series, you will definitely be going back to read the
others. I cannot wait for Mason’s story, but I hope that as Caleb grows older
that we get a book or novella on him. These two definitely deserve some HEA and
you shall see why as you see them throughout all the books.
Ace may be the enforcer by day, but by night he is a total
sweetheart. He knows that she is the one, ring be darn cause she isn’t in the
marriage to cheat so if you don’t like cheating stories have no fear cause this
is a slow romance and they both do not take any steps until she is clear and
free of the creep. He knows that it won’t be easy, but being supportive and
protecting Violet is his goal.
Violet endures what no women should have to go through and
thankfully there were people there that day to save her and take the creep
away. She doesn’t like to be helped, but this clan that we all love shows her
that they are there for her and rooting for her to release the real her and set
her goals. While she was abused and at
times brought her spirt down, she still had so much spitfire in here. It won’t
be easy to overcome and free herself from her husband, but getting a second chance
at life in so many ways are truly what this story is about. Yes, there is love,
but it is truly about getting a second chance at life when you are a victim of domestic
violence.
It’s an emotional story, friendship and love and you not
only see these characters grow you see the other characters grow as well in
their relationship. We may have felt the abuse in this story; however, we need
to prepare ourselves for Mason and Caleb as being a single father and dealing
with the events that Caleb is dealing is sure to test our emotions. One thing I
love about this author besides making us love each book more and more along with
getting to see all characters is that there are real life issues being dealt
with in her story. It is all peaches and cream and takes some drastic events to
get their HEA.
