The Hockey Saint by Howard Shapiro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was the much anticipated sequel to the Stereotypical Freaks. Out of high school and navigating the way into adulthood and being in a sport that is widely watched can be harder than high school. Jeremiah and Tom while different strike up a friendship, but with any friendship comes some setbacks. Can Tom help Jeremiah before it is too late?
The graphic novel tells the story not only in pictures, but in the writing and makes us understand the sports world a little better for those of us not into sports, but know of the sport. This author once again gives us a story while tackling real topics: friendship, sports knowledge, it's ok to make a mistake and how publicity portrays a story sadly, but is very realistic.
You do not have to be in college, love sports or be young to enjoy this graphic novel.
