Give Me a Reason is not only the first book in the Redemption Hills series, but shows us why A.L. gives US a reason to read her books. She has struck again with a read that not only hooks you, but draws you into the picture of the town and characters and gives you that added suspense to the story and then drops a bomb on you. While I will say one event I was able to guess, the outcome was so not what I expected and it takes your broken heart to make it whole again.
Eden and Trent are the perfect opposites attract and the attraction is undeniable. I like to think of Eden as the Garden of Eden. Trent knows he wants to "give that reason", but he doesn't. The chemistry, pain these characters endure and bond of a family they have touches your heart in many ways. That little boy is hilarious and you want to hug him!
The twist was totally unexpected and blows your mind, but settles your heart with this ending and leads us to a great start in a new series. I cannot wait to read about the other Lawson men (Jud and Logan)! I highly recommend this story if you enjoy a single dad, small town and suspense with a slow burn read.
