Ah Sweetness is the one word to describe this book (Stephen isn't the only one to think so). This book will truly move you as long as you have a heart haha. Two broken people with completely different backgrounds couldn't be more right for each other.
Stephen has lived with a lie that haunts him daily for him to protect his family after the trauma that surrounds his family and the aftermath of how him and his siblings deal with it.
Maddy is friends with his sister, Kate and has had a crappy life and everything that goes good in her life turns to bad. Stephen and her have something going on, but they both believe that they will hurt each other with their past. They each help heal each other and don't even realize it. There family, friends and co-workers see what they are too blind to see. In the end, they work it out not only between them, but the past that could only make them stronger including the once broken family secrets. It heals all characters involved in this story.
I love that Stephen gives her "broken" gifts so she will accept them. He does it so she has no choice, but to accept them since they were once new and now are broken like them. Now that was sweet!
Warning don't read this on an empty stomach as you'll see food throughtout this book and it sounds so yummy that your belly will be growling. You'll laugh, cry and swoon throughout the whole book. Epilogue was truly awesome and love how all characters got a certain HEA.
