Vanessa Brown has the perfect life. Newly qualified as a doctor, she has a loving boyfriend, Connor, and the world at her feet.
But when Vanessa suffers a tragedy, her whole world crumbles, including her relationship with Connor.
Vanessa starts her life over, only to find that new isn’t always better, and the mistakes of the past sometimes come back to haunt you. Even when they’re not your own.
This book is a follow-up to In A Lifetime, but can be read as a standalone.
Ariadne Wayne is the alter ego of Wendy Smith. She loves books and lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and two children. Having always had a prolific imagination she now writes the words down instead of storing them in her head where she can't share them. When she's not writing she works in Telecommunications, frequently banging her head on the desk with the random things that can happen to the ordinary phone line.

BLOGS REVIEW
Emotion packed story having to deal with a miscarriage that destroys the relationship Vanessa had with Connor. Vanessa struggles with not wanting a baby, wanting the baby and then having to deal with losing the baby. She has a hard time dealing with the loss of her baby and pushes Connor away.
Connor oh Connor I wish I knew more on how he felt while dealing with the miscarriage and the breakup. It was told, but knew we could have seen more on this from a male POV.
Can I just say that Dr. Dylan West is a jerk? Really, like Vanessa hasn't been through enough heartache. I gotta say he deserved how it portrayed out in the story. You can't have your cake and eat it too!
After all Vanessa has been through will she be able to reconnect with Conner is the question you will want to read to find out? This book may be part of a follow-up to book 1, but can be read a standalone. I didn't read book 1 and was able to read this book and love it. You will laugh, cry and wanna shake Vanessa at times while wanting to smack West. This story may be sensitive to those who have suffered a miscarriage; however, bravo to the author for writing a book on such a taboo subject. Typically we see a pregnancy in a book with minor complications, but hardly on how a miscarriage is handled and how hard it is to overcome and how it affects a relationship.
