Johan's accommodation was on the ground floor, a suite with its own patio and small garden. Christa couldn't resist stepping outside to view the stars in the clear October sky. It was a cool night, just hinting at frost to come. She shivered, only to have Johan follow her into the small courtyard and slip his jacket around her shoulders. "I am glad you are here. I hoped that you would stay."

"You knew I would."

He shook his head. "I did not, but I thought you might, if I fed you well and offered you a tempting business deal."

"You must think me very shallow. And mercenary."

"I have already told you what my opinion of you is, Christa. Must I repeat it?"

"I see no reason why not."

"Very well. You are a lovely woman, sexy, sensuous, and I want nothing more right now than to inspect that rather spectacular outfit spread across the foot of this bed, preferably with you inside it."

Christa propped herself up on one elbow and reached for the peach lace. "May I use your bathroom?"
