Laura
I believed
in the fairytale.
The Happily-Ever-After.
The “till
death do us part” fantasy little girls grow up believing in.
Unfortunately
for me, my happy ending was divorce, and learning to find myself all over
again.
I was done
with men and relationships, or so I thought, until a stubborn hockey player was
determined to show me what love could really be.
But could I
fall for the fairytale a second time, and trust that he would protect my heart?
Mark
From the
moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was made for me.
She was
broken and I was determined to put her back together again.
I was here
to prove she could have that fairytale love story after all.
To show her
someone else can protect her heart and love her unconditionally.
Now I just
have to convince her that someone is me.

Blogs Review
Protecting Her Heart is book four in the Indianapolis Eagles series and each book can be read as a standalone if you choose to not read the whole series. Boy, we knew there would be heartache based upon the title and synopsis, but your heart will hurt on a whole different level when you read this story. Grab some tissues cause you will need it! It’s a fact of life that this will happen, but it ain’t ever easy nor is anyone ever ready for this! This is all I can say to avoid any spoilers. B will forever be in our hearts and I think many can agree with that even days after reading this story.
Laura works in a man’s world, but she is darn good at her job. She may be tied to daddy, but you truly see that she works based upon her work ethic and not just cause her dad owns the team. She is very passionate about her job and her life. She’s mending herself after her divorce and takes some “me time” and I can respect her for that, but boy is she lucky Mark waited so long as she may have missed her chance at a second fairy-tale.
Mark gets traded to the Eagles and from the moment he meets Laura he feels something there, but knows she’s working out some issues. He’s a true man! He works up a friendship with her and gives her the time she needs to find herself. Love how everyone finally agreed the “yes” was a long time coming. They say, “good things come to those who wait” and this couldn’t be truer for Mark and Laura. He’s shows her that not every man is like her ex. The things he does including samples makes you love him even more. Best wording I could think of based upon the situation as to not spoil it for anyone.
The ending of this book, gah, I could hardly see for many reasons, but it was a mixture of sad/happy tears. I’m hoping that Mark’s former roommates will get their own story down the road. I love this team even when they beat the “Blackhawks”!
