Rookie is book one in the Bradford Station series and a great way to kick off a new series with none other than the Rookie of the Firefighter department. Danny and Hayden meet on the side of a road, little do they both know she is the Chief's daughter. It may be a small town, but Hayden just came back and Danny lived on the other side of town. What do you do knowing that she is off limits, but worth fighting for?

Hayden's decision to come back home was a good one, she is strong and faced her demons that were bothering her. Danny puts a lot on himself. He may be spreading himself too thin. So I love that his family gives him the push he needs. It is heartbreaking hearing about his story though. Firecracker Hayden's encounters with some people are hilarious and very brave of her. 

You will laugh, gasp and want to throttle some characters, but you will see how they grow in this story. There are some fearful moments being a firefighter and we can only hope that they stay as safe as they can and can move on from any setbacks. Best way to say this without a spoiler. This small town and Station One characters were a great way to kick off this series and I look forward to seeing who gets a story and how it plays out.
