Review: What If It's Right?

What If It's Right? What If It's Right? by J.B. Heller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of the things I loved about this book is that the tables were in reverse with this story. Typically we see a younger women falling for an older guy, instead we get an older women falling for a younger guy. While some may think of this as a taboo topic, it definitely is not in this story. We see tragic events, we see the laughter, feel the love and you kinda get a sense of Deja vu with an unexpected twist I totally did not see coming. Didn't you break our hearts enough in the beginning! Just saying, you will have tears in your eyes a few times reading this.
Tory was nineteen when a tragic accident left her caring for her 9 year old nephew, Finn. With no family left after Jaq passes away, Tory does her best to raise Finn and boy does she do an awesome job. Had you not read the story, you would think that Finn was hers.
Weston was Finn's BF and always used to tease Finn about his, mum. Well tease no more cause as he got older he really did get feelings for her. While most would say it was a crush, his mom, Vera, would tell you it was no crush and she was very true.
For years and I mean years, Tory knew that Weston had feelings for her and while she fought this hard for years as well regardless of their age and situation they were meant for each other and the feelings were real. I think Vera's speech helped as did Nixie. Oh my gosh, the scene with Weston, Finn and Nixie uncle was hilarious. They needed a push and this got them the push.
Weston may have been younger, but their relationship was normal and age didn't affect them. For some reading this, you may say yuck, how could this be allowed? Well, for one it's ok for an older man and younger women, but not only in reverse. Wrong. For two, it's not like it was his real mum going with his BF, she may have become his mum and all and Vera may have been her BF, but you truly have to read the story to agree with how and why they end up together.
The ending was so sweet and perfect after all the tragic events this family went through. I loved this book and felt like I was one of them with all the joking and love that occurred while reading this book.
