Before The Lies is a prequel to Elaine May's successful Truth series, although it can also be read as a standalone novel. Readers should be aware of its uncompromising storyline as it depicts the harsh reailty of Rosa's story.

Elaine May is my Author name. I live in the South West of England with my two beautiful daughters and yummy hubby. I love reading dark and twisted tales that mess with your head. I love to travel and spending time with my family. My dream is for people to like what i've written and hopefully get to go to a book signing event as an author.

There are two books in this series. The one I read combined the two so I'll review it as one.
Isla poor poor Isla went through tragedy after tragedy. Her parents died in a car accident, then something even more horrific at the hands of family. So many lies have been told. She believes them. Will she be able to move past those lies and start to tell the truth?
Joshua thought the love of his life was dead. They were young at the time by they knew they were meant to be together. He's such a hottie. Is he going to save Isla from her hell? Will he believe her?
This book is dark! It is also twisted. So twisted. If you like dark twisted books and love love stories. This is for you. It was beautifully written, so sad and yet full of hope for the future. I'm glad we got to see into the future of these guys. The children are so sweet. Anyway wonderful read. 5 stars.

I warn you first that I believe this should be read before the first two books in the series. I know it says it's book three but all it did was make me sad and upset because I know what happens.
Rosa is a naive sixteen year old girl. She wanted to get away from her parents who she though were bad into the arms of a man who was worse.
John was a powerful man. He set his sights on Rosa and didn't let until he got what he wanted. He's evil and just a horrible person.
William was amazing and finally got Rosa to see the light and that love does really exist. But with John in the background will their love last?
It was a great book. I just wish that this book came out first or I read it first. I wanted to hit something and it was hard to read because I knew the outcome before I started. 4 stars.
