Title: If I Dream
Series: Corrupted Love #1
Author: K.M. Scott
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 24, 2017
If I dream, will you dare?
All I wanted was my freedom. It's all I'd dreamed of from the first time I stood in the ring. Until I entered Robert Erickson's world. Until Serena. Cruelty and ugliness surrounded me, but she was beautiful and good. I wanted to protect her from her father's world, even though I knew being with her could mean the end of me.
I wanted for nothing as the daughter of one of the richest men in the world. But all my father's money couldn't buy what I truly craved. Until Ryder. I wanted all he was, all he brought out in me. All he made me desire.
Our love was forbidden by the one person who had the power to harm us. We dreamed of more than living in that world, though. We dreamed of having it all, but did we dare?
We all have dreams, but Serena and Ryder's dream seem so far yet so close. There is what I will call a minor cliffy, better than most cliff endings, but this leaves me patiently waiting for book two to see where this story goes. While we are waiting on this book, you get to ask yourself questions and hope we get the answers in book two. Sure we will, but we can only spin the story in our heads until it's ready for reading. haha
Um, I know the rich have a different lifestyle and all, but what the heck is wrong with you Mr. Erickson (Serena's Dad). Janelle her sister, is just as bad as her dad, but her dad is a head case even before the ending. Really, you aught to be ashamed of yourself for many things in this story, but the ending alone had my head spinning. Who? Really look really close that is who?
Ryder is a fighter and fights to pay off his debt and to live basically. Mr. Erickson makes him an offer that sounds to good to be true. Yep you got it! Dirty is the word to describe the dad. Ryder doesn't care about the fighting, he cares about protecting Serena. Let's not forget those moments that they share.
Serena is the complete opposite of her dad and sister. She is left to try to figure out a way to get out of this world. Ryder offers many times, but it is not that easy cause they would never be free of Mr. Erickson. Controlling takes on a whole new word when it comes to Mr. Erickson. My heart breaks for Serena many times in this story especially the ending. Serena is truly left with nothing but dreams at this point unless Serena and Ryder can make her father see what is right in front of him. Though I don't see that happening anytime soon, but one can hope.
There are questions you will ask and I would love to list them, but cannot as it may contain spoilers and I will not ruin the story for you. So I will think of mom while holding my tummy (boy did I drink to much wine in that wine cellar) and dreaming of a better tomorrow until book two arrives. For those of you who read this, I think you will agree with me that a wine cellar may not contain enough wine to survive this life or book. KM has done it again with another great start to an awesome new series.
