Review: Defying Gravity

Defying Gravity Defying Gravity by Laura Farr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book two in the Healing Hearts series and while each book can be read as a standalone you will see that Libby and Mason's storyline continues (characters from book one), but at no time are you felt lost if you picked this book up to read and haven’t read book one. This is Savannah and Josh’s story. After reading both books, I still cannot decide who I love the best as they are both good and you’ll love both set of characters.
Savannah oh Savannah, she puts on a good game face when it comes to Josh, her brother Brody’s BF. She’s been in love with him for years and she breaks a little more each day; however, a reckless void may not give her a chance to ever start their forever if she can get him to see her the way she wants him too. This decision may alter the game plan, but Josh is her greatest support person during this time. Confessions be darned because one confession just may derail another confession. Holy smack into a bale of hay and set it on fire when your heart is tested on this ranch.
Josh’s background on why he thought he was never good enough for Sav was heartbreaking. Awesome in a way, but bitter in other ways. I guess fates way of pulling two people who loved each other from afar all those years was the surprise from Savannah. In god's order this happened for a reason to give themselves something of their own miracle. Love that this didn't deter him from pursuing what was a long time in making coming. Grace, Josh’s moms action was understandable but thought that it would have been a blessing for her. Took a twister to get her to see the light.
This story is not only about defying Gravity but defying the odds in getting a second chance at life and love and knowing that with hope your dreams will come true when time is right. Brody's story (up next in the series) makes you wonder if it's going to be the girl who was in the wedding party or the mysterious girl in the barn that draws his attention.
