That's a Promise, Book #1

BLOGS REVIEW

I promise you this book is full of heartache, laughter and many sensitive topics that we may or may not be able to relate too. Josie is one of the toughest girls with all the dealings she had to deal with throughout her life.
The prologue hooks you right from the beginning and although heartbreaking we want to know the story of so much more that goes on with Josie, Seth, Blake and so many other characters in this book. You will notice that the book goes from past to present, but this is done so that you can understand what is transpiring and why. I would have loved to see POVs from either Blake or Seth on many of these chapters to get their side of the story.
Seth and Josie have been inseparable, BF since they were six years old as they got older and feelings change so do their relationship. Josie had one of the worst nightmares no girl wishes to go through and Seth is the only who can bring her out of her enclosed shell she hides behind. They both hide feelings for one another so that they don't ruin the best friendship you could ask for.
Josie meets Blake and knows that she could love him since he makes her feel safe. I've said this before and I will say it again. You can love more than once in your lifetime and the feelings of that love will not be the same and what she had with Blake will always be different than what she had with Seth.
The secondary characters stories are an added bonus. I love Brooke, Brandon and all the other characters. I especially love Dad and Daddy. My heart swoons for their story.
That's a Promise has Seth promising Josie one thing and Blake promising another. You will see lies, betrayal, protection, laughter and the forgiveness throughout this book. Losing Seth was harder than losing Blake in this story and that epilogue leaves you gasping for book 2. Warning you will want to read this series in full once you start reading this book.

That's a Lie, Book #2

That's a Lie (Promises, Promises #2)

BLOGS REVIEW

Oh my, Seth is back!! Yes, this man is beyond awesome. He is not only Josie's BF, but he loves her broken and with her flaws and all. Wow, I thought there were twists in the first book, but there are even more in this one. Yikes, you are on pins and needles with the turn of events that transpire in this book.
Josie and her lies. She hides the truth from Seth, Blake and her family and friends. I love that they can see right through her though. I love that Seth has returned and he will stop at nothing to get Josie to stop hiding and come out with her feelings.
Blake oh Blake, while I like you to a point haha you are just not meant for Josie. You are sweet and kind, but your lie itself is so wrong. Josie forgave you even after this and you promised her to be there and once you found out another secret she had been hiding you vanished. Ok, ok, I get Seth broke his promise too, but she had chosen you and you left. You may be a romantic, but this is so not Josie and needs to be spontaneous with her. Inquiring minds though do want to know what is inside that tin? What tin you say? Read the book and find out. LOL.
I love love that this was told from a dual POV and we got to see the questions that arose in book 1 since we got the background now. This made the book so much better and answered so many questions I had.
I would maybe love to see a novella on Brooke and Brandon. Yes, we know the story behind them and what transpires, but with the way her parents are and the struggles that they had with a situation as well. It would be nice to see and feel what they went through.
Really, you leave us wanting in book 1 and now you really left us wanting and gasping with that epilogue in book 2. What? Why? Haven't these two ok three gone through enough heartaches, lies and traumatic drama. Cruel I tell ya.

That's a Relief, Book #3

That's a Relief (Promises, Promises #3)

BLOGS REVIEW

Ok, I just need to say that this title is so deceiving until the very end of the book. As you read book 3 you ask yourself, "why the heck is this called, 'That's a Relief'?" with the stories and twist that unfold in this book. It is anything, but relief. Holy smoke, the twists that occur in here left you speechless and wanting to know if there really is a HEA for Josie in sight. Just when it seems to be looking positive for her we get a lasso thrown at us.
Josie cannot catch a break when it comes to her nightmare. Seth will stop at nothing to show her that yes, he is being protective, but for her own good. He fights his own depression and demons to keep her safe.
Well we finally learn what was in the tin Blake left Josie. Oh my, so sweet and he could have made her a happy women, but no one has her full heart like Seth. Don't get me wrong, I think Josie and Blake loved each other, but it wasn't the full on love that she needed. Blake I would have said no as well with what you did to that book, sweet but you don't touch a women's book like that. haha. Echo oh Echo you are really meant at the right time when you appear.
I love that Brandon and Brody didn't let their father's experience or Blake's time with Josie ruin the great friendship that they have. Yes, we all want to know a little more on Brandon and Brooke (even though we know what transpires we want the inside story or maybe life in Seattle), but inquiring minds really want that story on Brody and Breanna. Blake may blow a gasket, but I think Brandon would accept it.
Book Nerd got her wish in Vegas! So awesome and how Seth pulled that off is awesome. It was a relief that Seth and Josie finally got a HEA in the epilogue, but my oh my the negatives they had to go to get there. I truly hope we get to see more on them and the other characters. Maybe a spin off in Seattle as they adjust to something new.
I highly recommend this series to anyone and will inform you that you will want to purchase all three so that you are not left hanging with your mouth open wanting to know what happens next. So glad I got them all at once! A must read in my opinion if you are a book nerd like Josie and I.
