Janie takes her shot, and raising it in front of her, she says, “To new beginnings.”

I raise my glass to hers and we down our shots. I then suck in a quick breath to take away the burn. It feels good.

A comfortable silence falls between us. I’m lost in my own little world, a world now housing many cracks. As I glance around, people-watching, something catches my eye.

It’s a picture on a wall. Something about this image captures me, like a lasso. It draws me in. I hop out of my seat and walk towards the framed photo.

“Where are you going?” Janie questions.

“To look at one of these pictures,” I reply.

She quickly hops up and follows. The picture is of a beach lookout. There’s an old wooden bench, and the photographer has taken the picture from behind the seat, looking out at the ocean. It’s a beautiful aqua blue colour.

It’s stunning. For some strange reason, the image sends a peacefulness through me. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Out of nowhere, a small voice calls my name. Chloe, a new beginning awaits.

“Did you say something?” I ask, turning to Janie who’s watching me closely, she shakes her head.

“Are you okay, ladies?”

I jump at the sound of Trent’s voice so close, not expecting him to be standing right beside me looking at what’s captured my eye.

With my hand clutching at my pounding chest, I reply, “Yeah, can you tell me about this photo?”

A smile spreads across his face while he ponders on the image. “This picture is one I won’t forget . . . This place was amazing. It holds a special place in my heart.” His hand rests over his own heart.

“Where is it?” I ask, hopeful. This place could be my chance for something different. Before he answers, I already know, no matter where it is, it’s where I’m going.

“It called Canyon Bay.”

Someday's you have good days and Someday's you have bad days. Well Chloe's bad days came in three's with an added bad bonus the next day. Strong willed, Chloe lost her job due to her ex-boss, found out her BF and boyfriend were having an affair and finds out that her father may not be her father after her mom's secret is revealed. Then to top it off, when she decides to leave town for a Holiday, she gets a flat tire. Could it get any worse for Chloe?
Have no fear Captain America is here to say the day! Meet Seth, who helps Chloe on the side of the road with her tire. Oh my, I would have acted just like Chloe if not worse when she first meets Seth. Seth may be her hero at that moment, but he is fighting some demons of his own, but there is something about Chloe that makes him want to know her and help her too.
Chloe, the damsel in distress is in for the shock of her life when see finds out Seth is in Canyon Bay. Well OK, a few shocks that came to light in this small town. They say that bad things happen for a reason and this could not be more true in this story. Those bad and unfortunate things led Chloe to Canyon Bay and some amazing people. No it's not all peaches and cream in this amazing town, but we see full circle just how these new turn of events brought these two together. They were able to get their Someday, NOW and not LATER.
We see loss, secrets revealed, we see the light (I believe, do you is the question?) and healing with some great friendships along the way. Oh we see some funny banter too especially when it comes to Chance, Seth's business partner, friend (more like a brother) and Janie, who is Chloe's friend that she used to work with. Oh my these two! I hope to see a story on these two cause they may be friends, but friends should always knock on the doors before entering even if it is your home you are entering. Just keep this in mind! haha
This story is touching, heartfelt, sad at times and gives others hope when they don't see it getting any better. It can take years to feel whole again, but know that you will Someday get your closure you are looking for. Olive=Canyon Bays' Angel in disguise. Nan-Sheri is just an added bonus and if Huggamug Cafe was real I would totally spend my days here. What more could you ask for? Books and Coffee with the added bonus desserts that sounded so yummy. This was my first book by this author and definitely will not be the last one, especially if it's more Canyon Bay stories. That place sounds like an awesome town to live in or stop in during tourist season.
