See Santos and Mariana DeGuajarado
As goalie of the Texas Mutiny, Santos is damn good at protecting that net. But he never bothered to protect his marriage.
Letting the fame and notoriety go to his head, he lost the things he loved the most… his wife and kids. Now he has one shot to make it right before losing at this relationship game and he’s determined not to miss this time.
Mariana has been scarred so deeply by Santos’s betrayals, she will carry the wounds forever. After almost ten years of marriage though, she knows him well, and she knows he won’t let go without a fight. Still, she refuses to be a push over.
Because love is never enough…
I'm going to start off by saying that this book is about being able to move on from infidelity. It's also about growth between a couple.
Mariana is such a sweet lady! She had put up with so much from Santos that I wouldn't be able to move on from. She has figured out that her husband has been cheating on her a lot! How does she move on from this? How does anyone move on from this type of situation? Mari has three kids that need to have some comfort in the situation so she needs to do what is best for her kids and herself. So she leaves him.
Santos had affairs with so many different women over the years. He seems like a sweet guy and totally in love with his kids! He is the best dad and most involved dad there is. He is also a professional soccer player so it makes it a little harder on their relationship. He feels bad for what he has done but is it enough to save his marriage?
This book goes through all the emotions of going through a separation, counselling and a divorce with kids, This story makes you sad, mad, angry and hopefully to an good ending. I won't give more away but just know that there is a good ending and such a good read. I hope that anyone that is going through this same situation knows that things can go well and people can move past it. Please go give this book a chance. I normally do not do cheaters in books but this was well written and so amazing.
