Oliver may book three in the This is Our Life series, but can be read as a standalone for those of you who either do not wish to read beyond this book or have not read this series and want to read this book. This is the first one I have read and you can follow the background characters just fine; however, if you are like me I will be reading about Grayson and Keagan down the road.
This is Oliver and Fallyn's story, but let's not forget it is Harper's story too! This story is an emotional one so you have been warned, but in the end it will tug at your heart all over again, but in a good way. Oliver and Fallyn both have their own stories to tell and both will get a second chance at starting over when all is said and done. This is not a second chance romance, this is a second chance at life romance with your soul being fated in the most ironic way.
Oliver survived a tragic loss after his return from the war zone. Why is it that those who protect our country, come home in one piece, but are destroyed while home? There is a little mystery to this and never did I guess that one when the details unfold. He is on a new mission to find a missing woman and daughter.
Fallyn has been on the run for over fifteen years and the horrific story that unfolds is beyond sad not only for Fallyn, but for Harper. Both of them are strong and this Vixen will stop at nothing to protect her daughter. I don't honestly know if I could have survived the way she did, but a mom will stop at nothing to protect her child.
After years of Oliver trying to find Fallyn/Harper he gets his chance in a small town. Not only does he want to close out this mission, but he doesn't know what it is about these two that have him going against his rule. From the moment he seen the picture he knew there was something, but couldn't understand the pull. Seeing them doesn't do pictures justice. He will save her from a monster (and that is putting it nicely), but he needs to wind down and let the past stop holding him back.
This is not a love story for the faint of hearts. There is tragic, pain, a past that needs to be closed on both sides and a Vixen who doesn't want to be saved by the Cowboy. Let's not forget the passion between these two as well. Just like in the Goldilocks and the three bears story, we see Papa Bear and Mama Bear protecting their cub. My heart not only broke for them all, but my heart also melted with the instant connection that he felt for Harper as well. You will not want to miss out on this story of Oliver, Fallyn and Harper. You will be on the edge of your seats waiting to see what transpires next when twists and turns are thrown at you. While we can go back and read about Grayson and Keagan, I really want to see a story about Harper and MacGyver. Papa Bear won't be happy, but we will.
