“There is a tall, handsome and might I add dreamy hunk of a man waiting just outside for you.” 

I tried not to laugh at the wide-eyed expression of the teenage girl standing in my doorway. She was awestruck apparently, and the way she was smiling had to cramp her cheeks.

“Did you get his name?” I asked, already knowing who it was.

Her smile faltered as she looked over her shoulder, then back to me. “I forgot to ask,” she said in a high-pitched voice. “I guess I was distracted.”

It was my turn to smile, “Believe me when I say I know exactly how that can happen.” She looked a little relieved. “His name is Ben, and you can send him in.” 

With a nod, she stepped out and within seconds he appeared in the open doorway.

“Good morning,” he said as he moved in and sat on the edge on my desk. His large frame practically swallowed up the surface beneath him. “You avoiding me again?”

“No.” I leaned back and crossed my arms over my chest. “I’ve actually been busy.”

He watched me closely, as if I would somehow show him I was lying. Arching my brow, I remained in place and his smile grew wider. “Have lunch with me.” It wasn’t a request.

“Busy,” I replied, holding up the stack of papers on my desk and giving them a little shake.

“Dinner then. I’ll even bring it to you if you can't get away.”

“What are we having?” I asked, still not yet agreeing. 

“What do you want?” His eyes remained locked on mine as he gave me a mischievous grin. Ben and I had developed this little flirty game. In fact, we’d pretty much mastered it. I knew he wanted me, and I wanted him. That was never the issue. I just had to learn to get past my hesitance and fears of what could go wrong.

“Steak,” I finally said, ignoring the flutter in my stomach. “Seasoned vegetables and garlic roasted potatoes.”

“Can we forego the garlic? I kinda wanna kiss you later and I don’t want any excuses from you. If I add garlic into the mix, well, I’m setting myself up for disappointment.”

I couldn't help the laughter that bubbled up and spilled from me. “You’re insane.” 

“For you, yes.”

C.A. Harms is like any other addicted reader. She enjoys happy endings and HEA love stories. She hasn't always been a lover of Romance and had once been addicted to a good Mystery. Just recently she has taken on a new liking and now is a full blown Romance novel addict. She lives in Illinois and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. You will always find her with her kindle or paperback in hand as it is her favorite pass time.

Forever Devoted is book two in the Crazed Devotion series and can be read as a standalone; however, you meet them in Always His and see the funny before they meet moment that has you laughing when you read this story cause you know Mr. Stubborn and Ms. Independent are going to clash based upon their side we got to see then. Plus, we get to see more of Ryker, Tori and Nicole along with the other characters. I will say though that this one had me crying more than ever. Just when things start looking up we get a twist, oh then it starts to look more promising and bam we are hit again. Didn’t know how much more my heart was going to take. Trust me when I say you will not expect these bomb droppers!! Grab those tissues you have been warned!

Ben and Liz meet while Ben was on a break from the Marines. She was quirky, independent, sassy and didn’t want a forever based upon some prior history. Ben and Liz shared what they believed to be a one-night thing before he left. Though they kept in contact it was a friendly contact and while they each knew there was more to them than what was revealed that night, Liz was going to fight her attraction to Ben no matter what. I love Elle, her sister cause she is frank just like Liz and it helps Liz I would say. Ben is going to move to their town and start a new life after the Marines. Now he just needs to show Liz that they can have a forever even if she is dead set against a forever. There is an emotional rollercoaster here between the two, but a twist has her re-thinking everything. This is where some tissues come in hand, but don’t worry you will need them a few times reading this story. I don’t know who I was rooting for more my heart or their forever. CA did an amazing job on captivating us readers with love, heartbreak and seeing the many friendship unfold in this book. Can he convince Liz that the risk is worth it even after all the gasping and hurt that is revealed in this story or will Liz be the stubborn independent she is and continue to protect her heart? If you think battling on the field is a game of survival you haven’t read this story yet. Get on the crazy train and read this Crazed book and fall in love even when your heart breaks like it did us. I cannot wait to see where this is going with the next set of characters, just try not to break our hearts as much as this one did.
