The Black Ops men keep tugging at your heart and you cannot help, but want to free their pain as you read their stories. These men have seen and have done some bad stuff to protect our country, but we all know these strong men hide the soft side of their personality and feelings. They let you see what they want; however, these girls are showing these hot and strong men that they can still be the fighters and love at the same time.
We got to meet Jasper in book 1 (Shane AKA Lennox and Lily’s story) and we saw that behind this brave man was a broken soul, but never did I expect the story that was revealed. Emily is Lily’s friend and a recent widow who puts her son first so when that first glance occurred between these two we knew, and they knew there was an instant connection; however, his fear of children and bedding women for less than a week stops these two from pursuing what could be their chance at a HEA. These two have some past revelations that can either make or break them. Will Jasper be free after the truth is out or will his guilt keep him from claiming what could be his soulmate? Wouldn’t you like to know?
This is an emotional and beautiful story about two people who have dealt with loss, friendship and how to trust not only in a relationship, but in the workforce as well. Not only will you fall in love with these two you will fall in love with the secondary characters. The Black ops men be known as the 707 research and development group, but they live and die by the code not only in the soldiers’ life, but from a protection from fighting and protecting the women who are theirs. Each book can be read as a standalone; however, we do see a continuing story from the work aspect that continues to throw us some twists and turns, but if you happen to not read any other story you can absolutely follow along without any problems and I can guarantee you will be wanting to read the other books as these characters stories grow and it is nice to see them in each story. There is a character that we saw in book one and in this book, that I hope will get a story even though they are not an OP. I won’t say who though as to not spoil anything. Levi or Clark is up next in this series and I cannot wait to read more on these Black Ops. The author does an awesome job of colliding the lives together and shows us that the sacrifices these men take on and off the battlefield.
