Blurb

It had to be a joke.

Any minute now, a van would drive up and Ashton Kutcher would slide the door open, laughing hysterically at my melodramatic performance on the front porch.

But nothing happened.

The words on the page jumbled into a toxic mess my brain refused to comprehend, much less accept.

Please consider this letter as a formal request to arrange a paternity test (DNA).

I barely remembered Chelsea Airy.

That wasn’t true—we’d gone out once, and we’d been friends for a while after. But I hadn’t heard so much as a peep from her since I’d gotten married. I’d reached out a handful of times, but she’d quit responding and fell off the face of the earth. There hadn’t been a text, an email, a phone call, not even a Facebook message, much less a stork in the last five years.

My wife could forgive a lot, but she’d never wanted children—much less another woman’s.

BLOGS REVIEW

Unexpected Arrivals not only gives James and Cora an unexpected stork you shall say in the form of a Dear John (in this case James), “we need your DNA”, but this story also comes full circle with unexpected information that brings the past and present to collide yet again. Oh, you will see what I am blankly stating when you read it, had to be vague as so not to leave spoilers. This story is told in three parts and gives us the full background so that we got to see how James and Cora began, the hurt and tears that we felt as they did when a career move is chosen and the importance of Chelsea and why she disappeared.  You are left speechless when you see how much twists collide with the present and just how closely their childhood intertwines with their future.
You will see young love, mistakes, life lessons that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and the blessings in disguise even when it takes the hurt to see the love in the end. You will cry, laugh and feel for all characters, but I truly felt for James the most throughout the book. He knew, Cora was “the one” from that moment in Junior year. You not only connect with them you connect with Neil and Hannah and some other secondary characters. After all is revealed, you are left wondering if Cora will make the right decision cause she did not want kids and if this is truly James kid, what does it mean for them now? This story had many twist, but it could have gone a completely different way if Cora chose a different outcome is all I will say in many aspects of the twists she was given.
This story of Unexpected Arrivals is “Legendary” and I “Promise” you will not be disappointed in the end. Oh my, you will laugh, cry and gasp with some comments all at the same time. There was a topic that I had never heard of and was amazed to learn about it though this story though. This book will grab you from the beginning to the end. This story is very heartfelt and deals with just how close to life can deter when lemons are thrown your way. Expect the Unexpected and hope for the HEA in the end.
