Title: Freed
Series: Bound Duet #2
Author: Stephie Walls
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 10, 2017

Blurb

Severed...

I moved on.
I couldn't hold on to what was deteriorating, devastating, destroying,
Me.
Us.
Nobody could.

And now, I have real love.
The kind that means something,
Rocking in chairs and growing old.

But, choosing between the past and future is too painful.
Too raw.
Too final.

I was bound to Gray, but he lost me,
Let me slip through his fingers.
That was then.

This is now.

I'm freed.

BLOGS REVIEW

This is a duet and this is the conclusion to their story. It is recommended that you read book one, Bound before reading this. While I feel if some people do not wish to read book one, you would be able to follow the story, but you are missing out on key facts to how it leads up to now. My heart hurt at the end of Bound and I was torn on where to go with this story. Gray was an unhealthy relationship for Annie, but there was something about him that drew you to him and their disastrous relationship. We had the suspense in Bound and it continues in the Prologue of Freed.
Holy heart palpitations reading the beginning. You didn’t know who it was and if you were going to cheer or boo at the decision. Wowzer! I love how suspenseful certain scenes are because you never knew which way it was going to spin and kept you reading to find out where this story was headed. Annie has come a long way and is so much more grown up in this story compared to Bound. She truly did Free herself and make the best decision there was between all involved. Trust me, once you know who she chooses and how the interactions after so long occurred you are still left with suspenseful scenes and more heartache. Your emotions are all over the place, happy and sad tears, smiling then frowning and then hoping after all the progress Annie made that she doesn’t go down a road she came so hard to overcome. The story involves many issues that show just how hard it is for a couple and those involved to get the end result. It ends up being a double your pleasure story at the end so you can have a happy heart.
Gray still manages to break our hearts, but Brett you are what every woman needs to show that there are men who love you with baggage and damage and accept you for you. Though I still believe you and Dan are bread from the same womb cause you two are so much alike and your friendship is truly bonded from birth to present. I loved that we see snippets of Lynn and while we see the mention of Scarlett and Topher I would have loved to see them and their thoughts especially since they were a big part of the first book.  Especially Topher’s when you made our world grey and weeping. You made us weep again in the end (happy tears) and made the sun shine through with that document. I hope that we get to see Annie, Brett and the whole clan down the road. Lissa and Dan need a story to share their experience on not only their relationship, but their feelings and how their relationship handled so many drastic life turning events.
This author truly held you Bound in the first installment and then Freed our souls and healed us along with the characters in so many ways. I truly feel that so many people would be able to relate to these characters and maybe even get the closure they were still searching for. I would like to say Bravo! to the author as we seen her notes in the beginning and end on how hard it was to re-do this story. I am so glad that you did and that I got to share this experience with you as it was on of the best duets this year. It truly touches your heart in many ways and heals your soul in the end. May you be Bound in the beginning and Freed in the end!
