Author: Lila Rose
Series: Hawks MC #3: Caroline Springs Charter
Genre: MC Romance

Stricken by grief, Kalen “Dive” Brooks drifts away from his MC brethren, only having room in his life for his child. Worried for his son, he’ll do anything necessary to protect him, even if it’s admitting he needs help.
Alone and vulnerable, Philomena “Mena” McAdams has lost it all: her parents, her husband, her job and her home. Living out of her car, she’s learned life isn’t worth regrets. When Mena takes the job of nanny and housekeeper for Dive, she doesn’t know what she’s getting into, but neither does Dive.
Can they learn to love again when things are so down and out?

I was born in Brisbane Australia, my step-dad was in the army which caused us to move around a lot. We finally settled in country Victoria, Australia. I am the youngest of four children and I can say that I was spoilt a bit. I drove my mum crazy when I refused to eat meat at a young age.
Now I live with my husband and two children, and I find myself regretting all the troubles I put my parents through because my monsters are just as picky as I was.
I started writing in 2013 and self-published the first of the Hawks MC Club series Holding Out. The next to follow was something different, I wrote Senseless Attraction, a YA novel. Soon, I was back to the Hawks series with number two Climbing Out. I have more to write in the series, but there will be also be more novels in the humorous erotica genre, like Left to Chance.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. I would love to go back and read book 1 and 2 as inquiring minds really want to know the stories behind the secondary characters that appeared in this book. Let me point out though that you do not have to read the other books to read this story. As you can see I read this book and I have not read any of the other Caroline Spring Charters MC books. This is an MC book, but told from a different side. Don't worry you still get to see the MC life for those of you who love MC reads; however, this book is more about the struggles and relationships that one goes through in life and that it doesn't only happen to someone in the MC it happens to everyone in the real world. Kalen "Dive" OMG from the first few chapters had my heart in my throat and tears in my eyes. He mans up and raises his son, Koda away from the MC dealing with the downside of life and works on struggling to survive for his son. His heart oh the feels you feel for Dive going through this. Yes, I know the characters are not real, but to us while inside their world they are. Insert Mena, who becomes the nanny/housekeeper deals with a different type of struggle you can say. They both experience one trauma from their past. Don't want to leave spoilers so I have to be vague. I'm surprised she didn't take off running the way Dive treated her. Loved her calling him, Mr. Brooks, as he hated it and knew she was pissed. They each had their own battles to overcome and while they had sparks for each other, Dive wasn't ready until he could live without feeling guilty. Mum smacks some sense into him and so do his MC brothers. Haha love how they torture him with this cause they can see he has feelings or Mena, but is fighting it. Let me say though he was truly a devil (nice way of saying this) to Mena. I understood why he did it though, he was feeling guilty about his biggest love and was scared to believe he could move on. From the moment Mena meets Koda you can tell she was the perfect Nanny compared to those others interviewed. Mena cared for him from the beginning and made Dive see that Koda will be ok and not meant to live in a bubble. This book is about experiencing the down side of life and learning to how overcome this one way or another. Wow! that cliffy why, now we have to wait to find out more. No, the cliffy if not from Dive and Mena, but from Nary/Saxon. See MC aren't always bad they do have a soft side others don't see. Can't wait to read more on this MC series. Love it!
